At Charlotte Street computers, we love to celebrate the holidays! This year, we celebrated Halloween with LaZoom Tours on the big purple bus for their annual Halloween tour.

This year’s tour featured some “undead” celebrity impersonators who haunt the riverbank after a fatal tour bus crash.

The CSC team had a great time on the tour. One of our best Halloween parties yet!

The amazing Hellblinki Sextet was also on board to provide some creepy background music for our creepy tour.

Jennifer was on the air recently with Bill McClement on Asheville Area Focus, talking about e-cycleme.com. (That’s our new computer recycling center, in case you hadn’t heard.) Bill and Jen discussed the importance of computer recycling and how e-cycleme.com refurbishes old computers in order to donate them to those in need in our community. You can hear the show here.

Also, visit www.ecycleme.com to learn more about how we recycle and refurbish our computers and how you are helping people in need just by dropping off your old computers and computer-related electronics.

E-cycleme.com’s Grand Opening Celebration This Weekend!

I just wanted to announce, via blog, our big Grand Opening Celebration for e-cycleme.com in downtown Asheville this Saturday, Sept. 13. Below is an excerpt from our recent newsletter with all the information you need about the party. SEE YOU THERE!!

Grand Opening of Asheville’s New Computer Recycling Center

E-cycleme.com, Asheville’s new computer recycling center, would like to announce its Grand Opening on Saturday, September 13. We will be celebrating at our downtown location, 101 S. Lexington Avenue, from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Ceremonies will commence with a ribbon cutting at 3 p.m. and Asheville City Council members Bill Russell, Robin Cape, Holly Jones, and Brownie Newman will be on hand to enjoy the festivities. Asheville Pizza & Brewing Company will provide some delicious refreshments and we will have fun giveaways from other area businesses. There will also be music by three local bands; Wayfarers All, a jazz-fusion group; psychedelic jam band The Steamboat Theory; and The Hellblinki Sextet, best described as “Three Penny Opera meets Sesame Street”. In addition, there will be a show by Asheville Aerial Arts along with an art show displaying the work of several local artists including Warren Purdue.

At e-cycleme.com, we hope to raise awareness about the importance of recycling e-waste, as well as add to our cache of computer components that will be refurbished into working computers for disadvantaged community members. As such, the public is encouraged to bring a recyclable computer part to the party. 1-800-GOT-JUNK will be on hand to assist with the collection of all recyclables.

E-cycleme.com is a computer and electronics recycling facility established by the award-winning computer repair team at Charlotte Street Computers. We accept a variety of computers and computer-related electronics for recycling and refurbishing, including desktop and laptop computers, monitors, keyboards, servers, printers, scanners, etc. Knowing the great burden that electronic waste inflicts on our planet, e-cycleme.com takes pride in the fact that we will reduce the amount of waste in the landfills of western North Carolina by reusing equipment instead of throwing it away.

In addition, e-cycleme.com has joined with The Eblen-Kimmel Charitable Group and A-B Tech to provide computers to community members in need. Through refurbishing and donating repairable computers, we hope to ensure that computer literacy – and the doors that it opens – will be available to everyone.
